D365 Finance + Power App = automated finance reporting

Ready Solutions and Mehiläinen have been cooperating for a long time, with Ready Solutions helping the customer in various data management and reporting projects. In terms of technologies, Microsoft's data and analytics tools from both on-premises and cloud worlds are used, for example Azure SQL, SQL Server, C#, Power BI and PowerApp. Mehiläinen set out to renew its financial systems by introducing D365 Finance & Operations system, and the Anapla planning system, and in this context it became timely to plan how to build a unified data warehouse and reporting around these systems.

Use of PowerApp technology in business

Mehiläinen had a need in connection with the financial data warehouse implemented by Ready to automate processes related to financial reporting, which involve D365, the Anaplan planning system, as well as the data warehouse and Power BI. We wanted to be able to export the budgets and forecasts made in Anaplan to the data warehouse with one click. For this purpose, Ready Solutions designed a lightweight PowerApp solution that links the process of the Anaplan cloud service and the uploading of the data warehouse to each other so that the entire drive chain can be started with the PowerApp application. The PowerApp application also enables monitoring of the driving chain, restarting, and it is also available on a mobile phone, enabling agile functionality for business controllers. PowerApp can also be published to a PowerBi report, where the data just uploaded to the data warehouse can be checked.
